How Loud Can Change Be?

·1 min

Skunk Anansie were never about quiet tones – neither musically nor in what they stand for. When we saw them at Rock am See in Konstanz back in 1997 and 1999, it was raw energy: Skin a whirlwind on stage – uncompromising, present, impossible to ignore.

‘Skunk Anansie’ on a fan’s shirt – connection is built not just through music, but through attitude.

Nearly three decades later, we’re back in the front row – this time at the Markdorf Open Air. And we weren’t alone: our two daughters joined us. The show may be smaller, more intimate – but no less intense.

Skin – moments before diving into the crowd.

Once again, Skin jumps into the audience, and again, people shout the lyrics to Weak and Hedonism at each other as if no time had passed.

But time has passed. The band has evolved – personally and musically – and still delivers exactly what fans come for: presence, power, and authenticity.

Cass – confident, charismatic, and clearly enjoying the moment.

The true art lies in changing without losing yourself.
Skunk Anansie show us how it’s done.

Fully present in red stage light – Skin, fierce as ever.
